Groomed by Elizabeth Melendez Fisher Good
The subtitle reads Overcoming the Message That Shaped Our Past and Limit Our Future
The word groomed is often a reference to the sexual exploitation of children. The book does address the subject of sex trafficking a $150 billion per year industry but its major message is to everyone. Grooming is something more common than you might think, this is what the first part of the book talks about We’ve All Been Groomed. The second part of the book looks at five grooming messages children often hear What Are You Groomed For? The last part of the book is called Leaving the Life, the author talks about women who have left the life of sex work but this section also addresses letting go of the destructive messages we have picked up as children.
