This website combines three of the things that I love - God's Word, God's Creation and a Good Book. There are reasons for this let me explain, I became a Christian at 11 years old, the Pastor who discipled me as a young Christian  often took our Boy's Group on hikes and taught us Biblical truth as we walked.

Cathy and I (Roger) are now the parents of four adult children. We decided early in our marriage that we would take a vacation as a family every year getting away from the normal routine of life to visit God's creation. We usually went camping for a couple of weeks during the summer.  All of our children have grown-up with camping, walking trials and Bible talks.  I have volumes of photos of these adventures.

Did I tell you that I love books?  As a Pastor of three different churches, I learned to do a great deal of reading.  Part of the responsibility of pastoring a Church, is to keep your mind full of fresh ideas to draw on for sermon preparation. Even though, I no longer pastor a church, I still do lots or reading and of course I want to share what I have learned. One of my goals for this Website is to introduce you to some good books by offering a short critique of some of the books I have read. These book critiques are found under header Book Recommends. I post a book critique every two weeks.

I am no longer involved in pastoral work at a church but I still feel compelled to preach God's truth, that is why I podcast. I love God's Word and even though I have studied the scriptures for many years I keep finding new and exciting truth from my studies. I want to share what I have learned. The goal of the podcast is to teach, encourage and challenge the listener with relevant truth from God's Word. The podcast is called the Relevant Truth Podcast and the episodes are released every two weeks. I try to keep each episode to about 30 minutes in length. These episodes are found under the header Relevant Truth Podcast .

My Biography

I am a father to four children, a husband to my wife Cathy and a grandfather to five. I have been the Pastor of three Churches, served as a hospital chaplain, and taught several courses in Bible College.
